The Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of the Interior jointly announced the promotion of enhanced artistic public engagement in social housing. With NT$10 billion allocated by the National Housing and Urban Regeneration Center, the initiative will be carried out by the Taiwan Art Foundation, the implementing body of the Ministry of Culture’s Art Bank project. Departing from the conventional one-off model of public art installations, the project will adopt holistic planning by professional teams, implement regular curatorial programs, and encourage resident participation. It seeks to achieve a win-win-win outcome by “nurturing Taiwanese artists”, “strengthening public engagement in social housing”, and enhancing “the aesthetics of everyday life”.
